Required Supplies
Do you have all your supplies? Use this checklist to be sure you're not missing anything you'll need!
-
Art Journal You need a surface to work on. I'd highly recommend a high quality mixed media journal or a journal with nice watercolor paper.
-
Watercolors That is not limited to traditional types of watercolors. Any product that is water-soluble and can behave in a similar way can be used in all the techniques in this class. Some examples are dye-based watercolor powders, inks and re-inkers and markers.
-
Paintbrushes Any type of watercolor paintbrush will work. The more water it can hold the better. You may need a finer brush for some lessons. Also a waterbrush can be extremely useful.
-
Paint Markers These are perfect to add finishing touches and details on top of your watercolor backgrounds.
-
Scissors They are only needed for the last lesson in the class so just keep a pair handy when you get there.
-
Stencils For a fun resist technique in one of the lessons.
-
Wax Crayons and/or Pencils For the same resist technique ;).
-
Masking/Washi Tape It can be very useful to keep your paper from buckling if you are working on loose paper but it will also be needed in one of the lessons in this class.
