Garlic harvest 2015
I don't think I really succeeded with this lesson. Although I did wet half the paper and not the other half, I don't really see much of a difference between the wet and the dry ... perhaps just a touch lighter. Two factors perhaps? : I bought mixed media paper instead of watercolour (it appears I don't know how to read ;), which is quite smooth and it says "vellum finish" .... hmmm probably not the right stuff?. Then, my watercolours at the moment are just the cheapy 10$ set. I am trying to decide between the peerless and the Kuretake Gansai Tambi. I am leaning toward to Kuretake. Any thoughts?? Thanks for taking the time to look

Pretty! I want some better watercolors too. I just have a cheap set.
Thanks so much :)

Looks great! I think probably the light colors make it so it doesn't look like a huge difference. If you have some mists you could try it with them, maybe that will work better. I didn't try this on other papers, but I think watercolor paper would probably work best. As for watercolors... Tough decision! Both options are really high quality. Maybe go by colors and price? I really love bright, as you know, so the Joanne's Palette set from Peerless is a great choice and I think it costs about 15$. There's something about peerless, they are just so bright and translucent... I do like the Tambi big set, and for our purposes you will probably never need another, but it is pricey... Is that helpful at all?? Lol... Probably not ;) Thanks for sharing your projects!! Makes me so happy :)

Thanks Irit, actually that was very helpful ... I have mists and I have Distress Inks so I may just give it a try with those - great idea!!! Oh, and I will go and buy the right paper LOL. Now as for the watercolours, I am not sure if you helped or enabled heehee, because now I want both. I thought the Peerless were a lot more expensive ;) :). I am loving the class

Lovely layout Moira. I love the softness of the colours you have used, but I do agree with you that it is hard to see the dry v. wet look. I'm yet to do this class, aiming to do it in the next couple of days. I only have a cheap set of watercolour palette and will need to join 2 A4 together again. I look forward to seeing what you do using mists. TFS
