I have a Canon PowershotSX40. I struggle with getting a good picture of my projects, but I usually just have to wait until it is a sunny day. I try to take it right above and then some from the side. I\'ve been putting them inside the bottom of a page protector box which gives it a white background, then I go back in and crop and edit. Not sure what it is exactly, it just says "photos" but I can change the color to be brighter, etc. Hope that helps some!

</use>
1

</use> Reply

1 Reply

HannahBrown98 says…

01/16/2016

@Davean Oh my gosh, I think that\'s the same exact camera I have!! It\'s not a DSLR (no removable lenses), but has 35x zoom and a manual mode, right?
Thanks so much for the tips! I bought a sheet of white poster board to use as a background, but I still struggle with finding good light. I guess I need to try different places in the house. My house is hard to find good light too. The mornings are WAY too bright coming in the front of the house. I find mid-afternoon to work ok in my scrapbook room if it isn\'t just way too bright. You\'re welcome! I had read that tip on the internet (forget who it was) with the white behind the project. My house is hard to find good light too. The mornings are WAY too bright coming in the front of the house. I find mid-afternoon to work ok in my scrapbook room if it isn\'t just way too bright. I have tried photographing them outside, but then I get way too much glare. That program really helps with brightening them up but can sometimes change the colors to be brighter than in real life... I also take a ton of pics of just one project so I can pick the best.
