The Elements of Design for Cardmakers
Masculine Card Using Positive Space - Lesson 1/Space
I am challenged more by negative space, but I made this one using positive space but very neutral colors, with the focus on the large sentiment; so positive space with more neutral/contemporary feel? This would be good for thanks to dad or even mechanic, as well as a Father's Day card with sentiment inside. This was challenging for me in that I really only had to stamp one thing. I am used to a lot of stamping and coloring and embellishments. I was inspired by the masculine patterned paper along with the new stamp set I bought with the very large sentiments. I probably could have put the sentiment on a white background and then put that on top of the pattern paper, but I didn't think of that until now! Maybe I'll make another. The pattern made me think of tools, so I printed out a wrench of cardstock and embossed with silver embossing power and added some silver string. I love this class already!
