Required Supplies
Do you have all your supplies? Use this checklist to be sure you're not missing anything you'll need!
-
Paint and brushes Watercolor or acrylics. It is up to you to determine what you prefer. Water brushes are really great if you choose watercolors and I recommend having multiple sizes on hand of dry brushes for acrylics.
-
Paper or a book If you choose to build a book or use a prebound one, make sure the pages are thick enough to not warp if you choose to paint them.
-
Stamps and inks Choose stamps that fall under your minibook theme (travel, etc). Choose ink colors in your color scheme, and remember to limit your pallet. My favorite inks are Stazon as they are permanent and quick drying.
-
A pen that will work on a variety of surfaces Micron pens are my favorite.
-
Washi tape Remember to choose colors in your color pallet! These are a great way to add design and interest and of course are a great adhesive.
-
Photo crops These are translucent photo measuring tools that can help you plan out your photo placement. You can make your own, but Simple Stories has a great and inexpensive set.
-
Bubble mailer envelope Use this to keep your memorabilia safe and flat while traveling.
-
Essentials Scissors, glue, tape, etc.
-
Most importantly... A willingness to experiment, try new things, make mistakes and PLAY!
